Introducing Tax Profiles

Sales tax has always been part of pricing a real product, but until now Additive Atlas had no dedicated way to account for it. That changes today.

Tax Profiles work exactly like Markup Profiles and Platform Profiles - save a rate once, reuse it on any Sales Quote. Each profile has a percentage and a simple choice: is the tax added on top of your marked-up price, or already included in it?

That choice matters more than it looks. If tax is added on top, it's a separate charge to your customer and never touches your Effective markup or Profit per sale - it's the tax authority's money passing through, not yours. If tax is already included in your price, it comes out of what you'd otherwise keep, and your reported margin reflects that honestly.

Tax is entirely optional and only ever shows up on a Pricing Slip - never on a plain Cost Slip, since tax has nothing to attach to without a sale price in the first place.

Head to Production → Tax Profiles to set one up, then attach it to a Sales Quote, the public Sales Calculator, or the Cost/Pricing Slip Generator.
