Frequently asked questions

General questions about the product. Pricing-specific questions live on the Pricing page.

Getting started

Do I need an account to try it?

No - the Cost Calculator and Sales Calculator are free, public tools with no sign-up required. An account is only needed once you want to save products, printers and quotes rather than typing numbers in fresh each time.

Is it complicated to set up?

It's built around the order you'd naturally add things: a location, your printers, your filaments, then your first product. Each step only needs what that step actually requires - you're not asked to fill in a giant form up front.

What currency does it use?

Everything is entered and displayed in your chosen currency (19 supported, GBP by default) - a display setting, not a calculation input, so switching currency never changes any of your actual figures.

Data and privacy

Who can see my business data?

Only you. Every printer, cost, quote and sale you enter is scoped to your own account - see our Privacy Policy for the full detail on what's collected and how it's stored.

Can I export my data or delete my account?

Not as a self-serve button yet - email privacy@additiveatlas.com and we'll action either by hand. We're upfront that this is manual today, not automated.

Do you track visitors or use ads?

No. No analytics, no ad pixels, no third-party tracking of any kind - the only cookies are functional (staying signed in, remembering your currency and theme).

How it works

Does it connect to Etsy, Shopify or eBay automatically?

Not automatically - platform fees are entered once as a reusable Platform Profile (a percentage and/or a flat fee) since real fee structures vary by seller tier and country and change often enough that there's no single "correct" figure to fetch on your behalf. Once entered, that profile applies to every quote you attach it to.

What happens if my costs change after I've quoted a price?

Nothing changes automatically - a quoted price is frozen until you choose to update it. What does happen is you get flagged: Additive Atlas keeps comparing today's real manufacturing cost against what you priced at, so a drifted margin is something you notice and act on, not something that silently happens.

Is there a mobile app?

Not a dedicated app, but every printer, filament and quote can generate a QR code linking to its own mobile-friendly page - scan it on your phone to log stock or a sale without needing a laptop.

Still have a question?

Get in touch directly, or try it yourself for free - the in-app Help Centre has step-by-step guides once you're signed in.
